Le Mineral Wagon

A closer look at one of the 16t Mineral wagons featured in the last post. This is a 'French' example, built from the Parkside Kit and to EM gauge. The real wagons were built post war for the SNCF, but many returned to the UK after a few years. I believe they we generally disliked and appeared to have disappeared by the end of steam.
This example is built exactly as the Parkside kit comes, bar regauging the wheels to EM and fitting 3 link couplings. Weathering is based on prototype photos found on Paul Bartlett's excellent wagon photo website. The rust could do with be a bit darker in shade, but overall I'm quite happy!
Till next time.
